The Essential Warm-Up.

The source of tension can come from anywhere.   Below is a series of exercises designed by acclaimed vocal coach Patsy Rodenburg to reduce tension in all areas so that you can have the best starting position from which to work every day. During all physical exercises which follow, remember to breathe regularly. Breathing is the key to all voice work. All exercises should be gently worked enough. Human Ergonomics.

We often find ourselves searching for tools and furniture to make our lives more ergonomic. We believe the answer to our aches and pains is a more efficient workstation -and heck yes! It’s definitely going to help, BUT the truth of the matter is that it’s only going to partially help. Kneeling Chairs: Nothing to Be Intimidated By.

“How does it work?” people ask as they tilt their head from side to side as if perhaps it’s upside down.   Someone once asked, “Is it for exercise?”     “How do you get into it?” they say, scrunching up their nose as if it’s something you might need a lengthy instruction manual for.     “Go ahead!” I say. “Try it.
